Soccer

Its that time of year again! Spring soccer! Price really enjoys playing and we enjoy watching him play. He has a great coach who came from Russia as an exchange student to play soccer at the local college. There he met his wife and they have a son, who is Price's age. He is great with the kiddos and is very knowledgable about the sport and communicates well the rules and skills of the game. I hope Price likes soccer for a long time. : )

The Magpie walks!

It only took her 14+ months to walk, but she is doing it! Yay! We were over at Yaya and Poppy's house during one of the snowy nights. I got the kids out of the bathtub and ready for bed. She decided to really caputre our attention and began to walk from the chair to the ottoman then to the couch. Once she figured out she could do it, she made this triangle pattern for half an hour; and each time she did, we would cheer for her! Price was so excited for her! We all giggled at the way she walked with her hands up by her head to keep her balance. She was so wobbly!!! I thought every time she took off she would plop down in the middle of her stride, but she kept going like she was making her way across a boat caught in a hurricane! Though obviously unsteady, she was so proud of herself and her new ability. This event happened just 2 weeks after her ear tubes. The doctor said she would start begin walking and start talking more after surgery. He was right.

Snow Days!

I love snow! I like the way it falls, I like being inside with a pot of stew filling the house with yummy smells and warming the bellies of my family. I like baking cookies with Price and reading books to Maggie Beth. We do these things often, but there is something so cozy about doing it when the snow forces us to stay inside! I have had to work these days too, so it hasn't been all fun and games, though going to the church office gives me a place to catch my breath and feel refreshed for day 2....day 3... and day 4 of no school! Price wants to play outside, but he can only go in short spurts because the wind chill is near zero and too dangerous to stay out for too long. Of course, Maggie Beth cries everytime he gets bundled up and walks out the door. She wants to go too. Though its been fun, I will be ready to see the grass and city streets clear of all the snow when it does melt away. But until then, we will enjoy these snowy days!
