Way to grow, Maggie!

Today, Maggie Beth had a well baby check. The doctor (whom we love) said she is perfect! Her Weight is 12 lbs 10 oz.! She is in the 80% for her length and 47% on the size of her head! She is a super star! Unfortunately, we are having to take meds for thrush and I am about to head to the store to by some Head and Shoulders shampoo for a mild case of cradle cap. She has a hemangioma (not sure of the spelling) on her lower left back. Dr. Stacey says is may be the biggest at her first birthday, then will get smaller and eventually go away. No big deal (compared to all the things that have to come together to make a healthy baby)!!

She also got an oral vaccination and 3 shots!!! She was so happy and smiley! She had no idea what was about to happen. She even smiled at the nurse just before she got stuck. Maggie screamed and turned so red in the face, I thought her head might pop off! I couldn't wait to pick her up! She cried for at least 5 minutes afterward and was all sweaty from being so upset and crying so hard! Bless her sweet little heart!

After we were done at the doctor's office, my mom, me and Maggie Beth went to Panera Bread to eat. Maggie slept the whole time and all the way back home....and then some more in her bed. I suppose a good cry can wear a little girl out. I am proud of my Maggie! Her only job right now is to grow and she is doing that really well!

I also have to mention, that when Price left for school this morning, he said he would be praying for Maggie Beth today. "Shots are not fun, but they help us stay healthy" he told Maggie. He is such a wonderful big brother!

Pretty and Pretty Incredible

Our house. Some trees lost limbs, but all were bent over from the weight of the ice! Excuse the trashcans, it was garbage pick up that day!

The golf course outside of our neighborhood. It was beautiful!

Ice hanging from the fence!

Look how thick the ice is! And this was the day it started to melt!

Ice covered each pine needle individually! It was so fun to look at!

I forgot to post these pics of how thick the ice was on EVERYTHING a week ago. And since I use this blog as a sort of scrapbook, I wanted to include them. As much damage as the ice did, it was so beautiful!

My Girl

Maggie Beth has been a pure JOY! She is sweet, cuddly and so stink'n cute! She smiles big gummy grins when I greet her at the crib. She doesn't mind getting her diaper or clothes changed. When I call her name, she usually smiles and has recently found her voice. She lets out all kinds of sweet coos! It is just precious! Bath time is her absolute favorite activity! She follows Price with her eyes, watches him play and turns her head when she hears his voice. I am breastfeeding, but my girl is a super star at taking the bottle, which daddy and YaYa both appreciate...as do I. Maggie is content to be held and rocked. She also likes the little "exercises" that YaYa does with her. Daddy seems to get the best and biggest grins. He probably has the least amount of face time with her, but she loves her daddy! She is 9 weeks old and her personality is showing more and more each day. Our life has adjusted to having Maggie Beth around and we adore her!!!

I have to admit the ice storm of 2010 has been really fun! Wednesday evening I went to the grocery store so we would have plenty of yummy food for the fam. Thursday, as the rain came down, I listened to praise and worship music and cooked muffins, broccoli and cheddar soup, pork roast, potatoes and carrots, and some fettuccine alfredo with Cajun shrimp! My parents have a small generator, so if the power went out, we could hook up the microwave and have warm meals. Our power went out at around 3:00 p.m. My dad was working, helping to sand the roads on the turnpike, so my mom came over. Jon brought home some firewood. The power came back on just 2 hours later!

My cousin, her husband and 4 children were in town. They were staying with my aunt, who lost power. They came over and we had fun!!! We made hamburgers for dinner and Bridget whipped up some rice krispy treats for dessert. The kids played the Wii. Three of the boys slept on the sofa. Price and Princess slept in the tent in the living room. It was pop tarts all around in the morning and more fun on the Wii. I have a scripture that Price and I were working to memorize on a post it note by the stove. It says, "always be ready to share with others whatever God has given to you." I Timothy 6:18. We had a great time sharing our home with family during the ice storm!

On Saturday, we went to my aunt's house for the kids to go sledding! They had a blast and then filled their tummies with pizza and played all afternoon! Bridget and the kids are still here. Their home town is still without power, so the fun continues....

Birth Day Pictures

Thanks to my best friend Molly, the birth of Maggie Beth was beautifully photographed. I love looking at pictures of the day my children were born. I can recall every emotion, especially what it was like to see their face for the first time. We had prayed to conceive her and for a healthy baby and full term pregnancy. Our prayers were answered. Now we would get to meet her. What a miracle she is!!

The four of us! I could not be more proud of my precious family! I thank God for His blessings and answered prayers.

Meet Maggie Beth

Our beautiful girl is here! Well...she has been here for 5 weeks now, but it has taken me this long to find a spare minute to sit down and blog about the arrival of little Miss Maggie.

I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday December 1. I was dilated to a 2. Dr. Hager said she expected me to be back by Friday. I went home after my appointment and played with Price that afternoon. My parents invited us over that evening for dinner. Jon was reffing a wrestling tournament in Chickasha. Around 7:00, I started having contractions. They were every 8 minutes. I felt them mostly in my back, so I was unsure if what I was feeling was really labor. My mom convinced me that it was. I called Jon. We left Price with my parents and I met Jon at home. He loaded the car and we headed for Mercy around 9:00 pm on a cold drizzly night.

I was put on a monitors to watch Maggie's heartbeat and my contractions. After an hour, I was dilated to a three. She called Dr. Hager and sent me to a labor and delivery room. Jon called my mom and she came to the hospital. The nurse called for my epidural. Within 30 minutes I felt nothing. I had some issues with feeling dizzy and ringing in my ears due to an unsafe drop in my blood pressure. Luckily, the nurses were great and took great care of me. I was progressing so quickly that I was vomiting! Yuck! Before I knew it I was 7 cm dilated! Unfortunately, I got hung up at a 7. Dr. Hager ordered pitosin. Finally I made it to 8 cm, but the contractions were coming too strong and too close together. Maggie's heart rate started to drop with each contraction. We could tell from the buzz of nurses and phone calls that something was "wrong." After asking the nurse, she explained that Maggie's heart rate was causing concern. I was scared. My mom, my best friend Molly, and my dear husband gathered around me to pray. We prayed that God would bring her to our arms soon. We asked him to allow me to dilate quickly, give birth and keep Maggie safe. Just after we prayed, Dr. Hager came in. She was very serious. She informed me that the baby's heart rate was dangerously low and was not returning to a normal level. She quickly asked me how I felt. I told her I could feel pressure. She said she would check to see if I were dilated, but if I were not, we were going to do an emergency C-section. I was a 10! Praise God! They started morphing my bed to prepare for delivery. I was instructed by Dr. Hager to push while she was getting on her gown and gloves. She watched the monitor and told me when to push. After the third push, she said "she has to come out with this push. Give me all you've got." I pushed as hard as I possibly could. Next thing I know, Dr. Hager is holding up my precious little girl! Maggie was screaming! She rubbed her dry and let Jon cut the cord. She placed Maggie on my chest. She became quiet as soon as I started talking to her. She had a head full of dark black hair, just like Price did when he was born. Her eyes were open; blinking slowly and looking around. She was precious and my heart felt like it was going to explode with love. Margaret Elizabeth Molder was born December 2, 2010 at 9:59 a.m. weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces, 19.5 inches long.

Price was out in the hallway with Jon's mom when Maggie was born. Jon brought him in to see his baby sister. He walked eagerly over to the bed. He smiled at Maggie and touched her face. He asked to hold her, so he climbed up on the bed with me. Price talked to her and kissed her. It was an amazing moment; holding both of my children in my arms for the first time! The thought still brings tears to my eyes.

We have enjoyed Maggie so much! I can't wait to post stories and pictures about her and Price. Our family has grown by one and we could not be more pleased with our new little princess!!!!

Pictures coming soon!!!!!!!
